expert guidance for
your artistic journey
every single voice
has unique strengths, habits, patterns, histories, and needs — and each singer has individual creative impulses and artistic goals, even if they’re not yet sure how to articulate them.
Drawing from an interdisciplinary education spanning voice science, motor learning theory, contemporary musicianship, and performance psychology, my teaching balances evidence-informed strategies to optimize vocal function with student-led collaboration to evoke discovery and personal artistry.
I work with professional vocalists, seasoned performers, and dedicated beginners in my Oakland studio and online. As a continuation of my thesis research on using Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) to catalyze creative flow, I also offer performance and creativity coaching based in this powerful model.
I have presented original voice pedagogy and performance psychology research at regional, national, and international conferences, and have developed and delivered workshops for a number of established studios and educational platforms.
ACT
coaching
In the US, anyone can call themselves a voice teacher or a coach. That’s why I hold myself to a high standard of transparency and integrity in my professional practice and continuing education.
I was fortunate to study ACT and creative flow under the supervision of two brilliant and well-published practitioner/researchers, psychologist Dr. David Juncos and Voice Study Centre Director of Studies Debbie Winter. ACT is an integral part of my practice as a vocalist, author, and teaching artist, and it is a delight to help others navigate their creative journeys.
Whether you’re a professional artist, a passionate hobbyist, or just beginning to access your innate creativity, we’ll work together to refine your vision, find meaning and resonance in what you already do, and set a course that is exciting, sustainable, and aligned.
Let’s work together.
